Did everyone forget about the 308 Barr
The Nosler case is shorter and has a wider body than the STW case allowing it to work in standard length Magnum actions, with the same capacity as the STW.
Then you have the 308 Baer which would give identical performance as the 30 Nosler with the 300 Weatherby following close behind.
All the Noslers are is slightly shortened Remington Ultra Mag cases.
The Dakota magnums are basically the same exact cartridges as the Noslers. They are shortened 404 Jeffrey cases. Only difference is Dakota didn't turn the 404 Jeffrey rim into a .532" rebated rim like Remington did with the Ultra Mags.
The Ultra Mag cases have been shortened by wildcatters in the past. So this is nothing new. Only nice thing is that Nosler has commercialized the wildcats and now make brass/ammo for them.
With the 28 Nos. being the same capacity as the 7 STW and without any major differences in case shape/size, I'd say it's close to the 300 Dakota...maybe just a touch more. edit to ad: This one I will get.
