Ruger Varminter

Hi All,

I need some advise plse, I bought a Ruger Varmiter in 223Rem. She refuses to group anything better that 1.75". Makes no difference what bullets, weight etc.
At first I needed to cut the crown again, it had a suspect mark on, Yeah, new gun!!)
Even had to buy adjustable rings..my rings are WAY out to the right..with that one cannot use the factory supplied ones either!!
Now, I hear there are quite a few people with accuracy problems on this particular model.
Ruger advises people NOT to bed this rifle..?? I think it can be a cheap start, ie, not putting a new barrel on yet...
Now, my question...has anyone had such a problem, and if bedding helped, was there any particular way of bedding? Any particular part that needed and others that did not need bedding?
Many Thanx

Accuracy issues is why I no longer own any Rugers. Some people get lucky and get an accurate one. I never did. I quit trying after three. If you want an accurate Mauser style action, I recommend the CZ rifles. Just MHO.

I only ever owned one Ruger Varmint .
It was a laminate 22-250 with the grey finnish.......absolutely beautiful rifle.

After a month of screwing around with loads I traded it for a Sig pistol.

No regrets and except for the 10/22 I have,no more Ruger rifles for me.
