Ruger rpr rimfire- how do they shoot?

Wondering how they have been working out. Got a chance to buy one pretty cheap in a divorce sale

Mine’s ok, nothing special, not as good as my CZ 453. It’s fun, and it came threaded for my can. My boys like shooting it. If the price is right get it.

We have about 10 of them come through our club....Rifle is pure crap until you change the barrel and trigger! On one gun we tried 12 different ammo's and it shot like a shotgun.

I agree on the above about the barrel. I put a green mountain on mine and now have consistency and accuracy. My trigger isn’t too bad

A Gentleman won Hoser's 22 match with one. Beat all comers, 40x, voodoo, anschutz, etc. Some shoot very well and the price is right. I wouldn't sink any money into one.

Well with the scope thats on it if i throw the gun away im still into a decent scope for half what it cost new.

I've had one for a couple years, nice light weight platform for walking shooting squirrels resting against a tree or prone with bipod. The extraction can be an issue, ejection is weak, and accuracy on my first barrel was not good. Sent it back for extract/eject/accuracy and they installed a new barrel, put a new extractor in (I tuned the hook as it is a stamped piece), they did nothing about the soft ejection. It will leave a case in the chamber unless the bolt is ran quick.

New barrel did alright 1/2" - 3/4" 5 shot groups at 50 with CCI SV or SK Std+.

I converted it to a Whistle Pig .17 Mach2 which is a sleeved aluminum barrel threaded 1/2x28. It's now an exceptional squirrel gun and the barrel made it lighter w/ better balance.

50yd 10 shot with the stock somewhat inconsistent trigger. I'm temped by Timney's trigger.

I wish the stock wasn't such a flexi-flyer but it gets the job done.

Mine did fine once I found the right ammo . . . Center-X and Federal Ultra-Match worked best for me. It's not top notch, but a great value.

Then you can't lose, Dusty. But Mine is a mediocre shooter with any ammo (Eley Match, Center-X and Fed Ultramatch). Two other guys in our Old Farts group had the same experience, and one of them put a lot of work & research into making his shoot well, including a GM barrel. Didn't help.

The gun should make a fair plinker, though.
