I got similar results with mine. Put on a green mountain barrel and night and day difference. You won’t regret putting new barrel on!
Got it installed. Great fit and looks nice. Stainless mixed with black. Test fired a few rounds. Only issue is what it says on the barrel. Once the cartridge is in the chamber it will not extract until fired. I’m sure with some modifications or another extractor , the problem can be solved. Testing will be next.
Strange safety notice. Are they saying that you cannot eject an unfired round by cycling the bolt back?
It’s a match chamber thing. Really no different than jamming rounds in a centerfire. Just don’t close the bolt unless you intend to fire the round. No big deal.....
So you mean you have never had a reason to eject a live round from your rifle?.
I have been instructed to do on the range for reasons not of my doing.
I am a RSO, if someone told me they had a weapon that they could not eject a live round from, I would require them to remove the weapon from the line.
Yea, sure I’ve ejected countless live rounds. Mostly from hunting rifles. Can’t say that I specifically remember ever doing it at the range.
I’ve also shot rounds at the range that were jammed into the lands and would likely pull the bullet if they were ejected live. In some kind of emergency it could be messy cleaning powder out of the action but not necessarily dangerous. Of course there would be the bullet that would need to be cleared from the barrel. I would imagine a similar situation with that Shaw rimfire barrel.
If you have issue with it as an RSO then you should probably start quizzing all of your hand loaders to see if they are jamming or jumping.
The point of my comment was that if you need to clear a LIVE round from the chamber at the range and cannot then that poses a problem. If you leave a bullet stuck in the barrel but the shell comes out, that does not pose an issue.
From a safety point of view that is an issue.

I had my own Ruger Precision Rimfire upgrade/project a while back.Well, My recently purchased Ruger Precision Rimfire was shooting pretty good I thought, until I started shooting 10 shot groups vs 5 shot groups. So after I seen how it group 10 shots of different ammo. I decided to order a 18” Match barrel from Shaw custom barrels. Hopefully within the next week or so I’ll have some group pictures to share with all.
The picture below is all 10 shot groups from 50 yards. Not very good. All the velocities are recorded for all to see. It was kinda windy. But my 22 Kidd super grade shot a 10 shot group that proved that it wasn’t the wind affecting the groups.
Please don’t bash me. I’m not here to argue or prove or disprove anyone. Only to post info for other people to use to help make decisions.
