Ruger Precision Rifle - What's the Appeal?

We all complain when the major arms makers do not listen and build what we want. Ruger did and built the RPR for that niche. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea but it has started other makers doing the same thing. Actually Savage started it by offering lots of things people wanted.

I say great, keep them coming. It allows the guy that can't afford to go full boat to compete and that's a good thing.

I picked up my ruger precision for 1050.00 in 243win I had lots of AR15 parts laying a round so I sold the handgard for 120.00 the buttstock for 235.00 the 243 barrel for 275.00 I had a barrel off of another rifle with a T2K contour 6mm 7.5 twist I chambered it in 6xc. it's very easy to reconfigure that's what I like about the ruger you decide you what a different handgard or a buttstock or pistol grip , jus swap it out

I like what ruger has done with this rifle. It's a lot for the money. That said after all the hype I was actually disappointed in how sloppy the bolt was. Just to many hang ups for me. I guess if it shoots good enough that's easy to ignore.

I'm not a long long distance shooter yet. 850 yards is about as far as 71 year old eyes can see. The 2 RPR's I own fit the want part of my brain and fulfill the need part as well. I have the 6.5CM and the .223. .223 and 6.5CM are identical, so the 223 is a practice gun. Both have the same Timney trigger, stock etc... And they are simply fun to shoot.
