Ruger precision rifle timney trigger.

Hey guys. I just installed a timney trigger in my RPR. I notice there is a lot of slop in the safety selector. Any one have a solution or same problem?? I was thinking about picking up a seek selector and try it out. Thx

I don't think that the trigger is the problem. The selector when it is installed on an AR15 has a spring and ball detent to keep it from wiggling back and forth. The RPR does not have this spring and detent.
You can replace your selector, but you issue will not be fixed.

good point your right. But the stock trigger has a spring on the trigger and makes it feel nice and stiff.

I installed the Timney trigger in my RPR last year when they were first released and as matter of fact the safety selector is even a little tighter than the stock setup.

Earlier triggers had a problem with the the depth of the U cut that fit over the safety. Some, such as mine were not deep enough which caused it to clamp the safety so it would not rotate at all, frozen in place. A talk with the folks at Timney revealed that they thought Ruger had a problem with the placement of the holes the safety installed in were a wee bit different from gun to gun. They offered to let me send the trigger back and they would open up the U slot so the safety would rotate as needed. Their tech agreed to let me do the mod on my Bridgeport, saving me the time to mail the trigger to them and wait to receive it back. The tech also sent me a letter stating that I had permission to do so and my doing so would not affect the warranty. Nice folks at Timney. Love the trigger!
