Ruger No. 1 triggers

I have several Ruger no. 1's. Is it necessary to replace and triggers and what brand or is there someone who is really good at tuning up the original trigger.

I had good luck reworking my own (with great care). There are a couple of noteworthy after market ones out there though including a single-set.

My local gunsmith did a perfect 2# trigger on my Ruger #1, using only the original factory parts, but then, he is very skilled on working on triggers.

Jard also make an excellent adjustable trigger for the no.1. I haven't weighed mine since I installed it but I would reckon no more than eight ounces and very crisp.

Richard.

You will need to rework the hammer and sear surfaces no matter what trigger you use.

A Weaver base screw can be used on the newer triggers to provide sear adjustments.
Use an older trigger to find the place to drill the hole.

My Canjar single set trigger breaks at 1.2 lbs. unset.
