I just put my Ruger M77 .220 swift back together after I refinished the stock and bedded the action. I searched this site, then I tried google. From what I have found, Ruger reccomends 95 inch pounds of torque on the front action screw. Can this be right?? It is a walnut stock and from what I have read if you apply that amount of torque using a wood stock, you run the risk of crushing the stock.
Does anyone here have any experience with torquing the action screws on a Ruger? 95 inch pounds on the front screw seems excessive to me.
Thanks,
Andy
