Is this stock for a "tang safety" M77. Barrel channel for a "varmint" profile?

Who manufactured the stock? Ruger or custom?

I would say it is Varmint, definitely Ruger, lower price

I don't believe that will fit a tang safety Ruger.

Looks like it’s off a m77 mark 2 vt. Not a tang safety. Great rifles and a good stock.

Are the Ruger action all the same length or did Ruger build short and long action? Just don't remember.

Both. I believe the only long action was the 25-06

Thank you all for the info on this stock, it belongs to Sid Goodling who has passed, I have no additional info, glad the Ruger experts chimed in. I am sure this was a take off from a gun he restocked.
