I'm going to be putting a GP100 spring kit in a security 6 to lighten things up and was wondering about trigger/hammer shims while I have it apart. Are they worth it in helping smooth/lighten DA trigger pull?

I have installed shims in my Redhawk and SP101with good success. If you can find it this months issue of Shooting Times as a very good article on a complete tear down and polish/shim kit you can use at home.

Doing the trigger spring swap is easy enough, just was curious to the $$/return on the shims. They aren't terribly expensive, so I may just give it a shot and see for myself.
