Ruger American Magnum receiver thread size

Does anybody know the thread size for a 300 Win Mag in a Ruger American? Non magnum is 1”-16 TPI but I have read that the Magnum action has a bigger dia bolt body and bigger bolt head to accomedate the bigger .532 dia cartridge base.Im thinking that the tennon threads may be bigger too.

I have no idea, but measure your barrel diameter right at the barrel nut. If its over 1" by any good chance its bigger.

I took the barrel off of a 300 Win Mag today and the threads are 1”-16 TPI.The bolt body measures .890 ( about .040 bigger than standard) and the bolt head measures about .010 to .015 bigger dia.

That's good info and thanks . It's great to get info form this site and when not available it's good to see that you can and did remove it ans shared your effort . I applaud your effort . Too many don't understand this works best as a give and take source .
Thanks again , it'll get noted in my reference book .
