Ruger American After Market Stock Options

I bought my little brother a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 grendal for a Christmas present. Its a sweet little rifle, with a nice trigger. The stock leaves a lot to be desired though. Does anyone have good recommendations for an aftermarker stock?

My Ruger has proven itself worthy of a stock upgrade. Im looking at Boyd's, interested in other suggestions though.

I think Boyds is about it at this point. Richards Microfit might make one but I would rather just get the Boyds and be done with it than inlet and finish a Richards.

I was looking at Boyd’s. Their standard hunter one with the raised cheek piece looks pretty solid. Bell and Carlson has a stock too. It’s similar to the Remington BDL hunter series stock. Just seeing if anyone has first hand experience with any aftermarket stock.

I have the Boyd's and it works just fine. I had one issue and I can see how this would upset some folks. The part they include for the magazine to latch on is not just plastic, but kind of "Tupperware" soft plastic. Top that off with the fact that it is retained under an action screw and well, it just don't work. If you install it so the soft plastic part don't get crushed by the torque of the screw then said screw is not anywhere near tight enough. If you go ahead and try to tighten the action screw to the proper torque the soft plastic piece of B.S. gets squashed and is so mis-shaped that it wont properly retain the magazine.
The remedy was to simply make one out of metal. Personally, I used aluminum and it works just fine, but steel would also work too. It is not a complicated part, so i didn't really consider it much of a big deal or maybe I should say "par for the course" with this rifle. I wish I could say mine was a "nice enough" gun to warrant nicer aftermarket parts. A custom barrel, a Boyd's stock and a Timney trigger later and I like it just fine. But, it was supposed to be a throw in the Gator or 4 wheeler and drag around the farm. Instead it has cost me more than a nice stainless 700.
Be prepared to have to glass bed in the included steel "recoil lug seats" {for lack of a better term}. I also glass bedded the entire action into the stock, so it was a two step process. I guess you could slop it all together at once, but it was easier in two steps for me.
