Can anyone tell me if the Ruger American has the same barrel mounting system as the 77/22. If so do aftermarket barrels work on both. Thanks Alan

It does not.

As stated they are not the V-Block style but are pinned on. Do not let that fact sway you from purchasing the RAR as they will shoot as well as 90% of the 77/22 and have a much better trigger.

IMHO they are the BEST rimfire rifles in todays world for the $$$
