Ruger 77/22 trigger pull

I have a Ruger 77/22 that I would like to use as a bench gun but the trigger pull weight is 28oz, is there any way to reduce the pull weight down to 16oz or less?

Replace it with a Rifle Basix or Timney. That will be the best money spent on a Ruger. I love a Ruger rifle but thats the first thing I do with them. I have one with a Rifle Basix and one with a Timney. I actually like the Rifle Basix better. It will adjust down to under a pound and the safety adjustment is easier than the Timney for sure.

A lot of 'smiths don't like to mess with Ruger 77 triggers, but the right guy can do a good job on one. Used to be a guy locally who far as I'm concerned was the best. Back pre-electronic when there were adding machines, he repaired them. A wizard with triggers. Did a couple Rugers for me and the 77/22M is just perfect, he told me it was 12oz. Thing is very nicely accurate. So it can be done, although bear in mind that each one is a bit different and not all will tune the same.
