Ruger 77/22 aftermarket trigger

Concerning my Ruger 77/22WRM I have decided to change to 17HMR
using a 20 in. Lilja .920 in diam. barrel and a Boyd's thumbhole
stock. Now I need a new trigger. I've looked at Timney, Jard, Rifle Basix, Dayton Traister, MGR reproduction Ruger 77/22 Mk II adjustable, and a variety of sears and new springs, and I have no way of knowing which to get. Of course, I want what everyone wants: no creep, no overtravel, a crisp break, the proverbial "glass rod break"), and adjustable pull wt. I'll get a gunsmith to install it unless it is easily done. Ideas?

I have a Ruger M77/22 in .22 LR. I installed A Rifle Basix trigger and have got it down to 8oz. It is adjustable-very nice. I have "heard" that Canjar makes a trigger, but can't get info frm Canjar. I'd like a jewell as on BR .22 but Jewell doesn't make a trigger Rugers. Good luck. gpoldblue@yahoo.com

dogwater: Just bought & installed the RifleBasix trigger in my Ruger Mdl. 77, MK 2, VT Model, factory chambered in 22ppc). Took the trigger from the factory 5.5# "lawyer trigger", with creep like a double-action revolver, to a really nice 1.5# with no creep. Easy to follow directions, even for someone with my limited abilities. $79 from Midway. Very happy w/ RifleBasix: have them in my Rem mdl 700s' also.

Thanks, guys. I just took your advice and bought a Rifle Basix.
I'm looking forward to installing it and shooting that Ruger. The factory "lawyer trigger" certainly protects the company but is a great source of frustration for someone hoping to put together a tack driver.
