My girlfriend recently added a .22 for ground squirrels on our upcoming summer trip, as last time all I got to do was load mags while she shot mine. I had her get the takedown version which packs away nicely, great gun so far but while it's 22" butt to front of the action, the scope hangs over quite a bit as you can see in the photo. A scope in the 9.5" length will put it about even with the front of the receiver, keeping the same overall length. So far the options are a small AR type like a Viper 1-4x24mm but I am leaning to, actually I ordered one so I guess I chose it, the Konus 3-9x40mm which comes in at 9.5" long. Might even give the 3-12x44mm a shot if I like this one. Reviews all say it's a pretty decent scope for the money. I was thinking of trying a quick detach or ARMS mount but I have a thermal on one and the best it ever gets is a little over an MOA when reattached, a little too much for squirrel heads and I don't want to re-zero every time I take it out of the bag. I prefer a 40mm or so objective, any suggestions ? I will let you know how it turns out when it gets here. The takedown is a handy little gun that is 22" long & fits right in a pack.
