I an confirm what Laurie states regarding the small primer brass not showing pressure signs until you are well into the regions you don't belong.
A couple of yrs ago I was testing 215s in 308 with N550. My load testing got up to a slightly heavy bolt lift and some with a slight click at the top in my Defiance Rebel action. I backed down from that and tested more with new brass thinking I was getting once fired brass for my next match. I threw away 60 odd cases after a single firing. Some would not hold a primer after being decapped, as in the primers fell out on my desk when I took the case out of the priming tool. I eventually abandoned the whole experiment.
On the other end of this spectrum, I have talked with shooters who load reasonable "close to max saami" loads who get effectively unlimited reloading from their small primer Lapua brass.
