Roy Long of Hartsville, TN. joined the 2 K club and followed it up late this evening by making the 800 yard EGG club.
We started the day off about 10 a.m. mounting and then zeroing a March Genesis on my 375 Cheytac. We had a little trouble with the zero stop but didn't need it anyway. After a shot or three I had the impact one inch high and after adjusting my elevation turret to zero, I told Roy to take a checker shot. His shot went through the same hole as my shot and I said good enough. We looked at 1450 yards line but it was cloudy and no wind so I said no use fooling around with this short range stuff lets go up on Rocky Top. I moved the target back and up the hill some more hoping I had it at 2100 yards. When we got up there on the gator with all the equipment including a spotter rifle an rest for it, I checked the range. 2099 yards. Roy checked one time and he got 2098 yds so close enough to 2100. I dialed up the suggested moa of 62 and my first shot was a little low. Dialed up and second shot went a little high but both shots were dead on windage wise. Target was an AR 500 steel 100% size silhouette (torso). My next couple of shots were inches off left.
Next Roy climbed into driver's seat. He was all over it missing by inches. His fifth shot shook the plate. I was so excited I forgot to pull my ear plugs and ear muffs off (you need both) to listen for the ding. Not sure I could have heard it, but it was very still and quiet today.
