Roy Hunter bullets/ testing

Red gun has been reincarnated with some weight, and a 1.250 bartlien for 2023. I had Alex use the reamer Glenn shot so well on these year before last. Basically just reinventing Glenn's load and it's close on the first day out.....weird how that works! I loved how his program really held 10 shot groups together, and this gun has been great as a LG, but always was tight for weight. This combo likes it a bit deeper in than my BRA 7 reamer. These are 4 groups, each one set .002 different.Ballistic-X-Export-2023-01-20 18_44_05.250823.png

Your numbers don't match your lines on 7 8 9 10 11 12?

I had to scab together another tuning spot closer to home. It's not certain yet whether we've lost our other spot, or if it will be open again after the logging operation is complete.

I ended up, after 3 trips up that far mound, settling on 1,051 yards. No matter what I did trying to get a good line of sight closer to 1,000 there was always some crap in the way. This will have to do, and I finally got to shoot at 10:48am the first day "building the range".

They still like purple for some reason!

Well this really doesn’t mean much but last week was doing some 100 yd testing with Roy’s 103s and my first 5 fouling shots went into a .025 group. 30.9g Varget.

My fouler load is usually different than what I’m testing, just seeing if something is worth further testing, so that combination was not shot again that day. I did take that load out to 600 yds for some tuner testing. At one tuner setting I got a round 1.6” group, at another setting I got a 0.9” vertical group that I think the wind strung out horizontally. We’ll see this weekend when I’m shooting this load at a 600 yd Benchrest match.

I’ve seen what Roy’s ole bullets do at Piedmont and can tell you they are one of the ones to beat.Looking forward to seeing what these will do.Best of luck Alex
Roy came down and delivered everything, and showed us the ropes. He figured out everything. His process makes it hard to screw up. I have intentionally tried to over or under lube to see what happens. He has a great lube.
