Rossi 92 .357 ammunition

Hey all, I been a long time reader so I finally joined up. I picked up a Rossi 92 at an estate sale and I am wondering if there is any difference in .357 rifle and pistol ammo. There are are some manufactures who claim to specialize in .357 rifle. I never though about before since this is my first lever rifle in a pistol caliber. All the others are Model 94 in 30-30 and a couple of Henry .22's so there was no issue.
Am I good to go with this?
Anybody got any recommendations for something better to use? I'm not using it for any serious hunting, it's fun to shoot type of thing on my 200 acres.

No difference in .357 mag factory ammo. I have same rifle, it's my favorite woods walking gun. I reload for it and primarily shoot 140gr XTP's.

Only real difference will be in performance...in your favor. As a rule, loads from your rifle will produce from 200 to 400 or so fps more than the same loads fired in a revolver. Lack of barrel/cylinder gap and additional barrel length account for most of the gain. The actual gain will vary in relation to your barrel length

If I had to make a guess, if the box is labeled .357 rifle, the loaded it with a rifle length barrel in mind. And possibly used a little slower burning powder to peak the performance of the cartridge in a rifle length barrel.

I don't know of one and have never seen one. I'm just guessing that if the OP indeed has a box labeled rifle, that what I purposed is probably the reason.
