RODZILLA REST

A j shooter

Shoot often
I have a friend that just got a rodzilla rest .
He’s having trouble getting it to stay up it falls after each shot . We have tightened the set screw on the back to the point you have to get up and untighten it . Is this normal
I own a Neo X and do not have this problem. This is a brand new rest .
My Neo X has a brake the rodzilla doesn’t seem to have one at all .
Are we doing something wrong ?
We tried contacting rodzilla and he will not contact us back.

IME, Rod is great about getting back to customers and is very helpful. He does have videos on his sight regarding adjusting his rests. If you're referring to the course vertical adjustment knob, it does need to be pretty tight to keep it from creeping down but I've not had any issues beyond that. Without looking, I think the friction adjustment is on the front, opposite of the course adjustment knob.

It is the main adjustment knob on the right side of rest. There is a screw on the opposite side to tighten but thats some what aggravating

I had the same issues with mine, after adjusting ( a couple ) times the screw on the backside of the height adjustment knob it worked flawlessly there after.

Like Dave said, I think that once you get the tension set right, you'll be in good shape. I too like the clutch that Seb uses but it too can require some adjustment. I've seen them that didn't hold well either, being out of adjustment.

Call Rod, he will get you situated for sure. I had mine a bit on the loose side too and while it worked fine for my rimfire's, I noticed it would drop after some shots with my Centerfire rifle. Tightened the tension screw on the back side of the rest and it works like it should now.

The bridge clutch adjustment
There is set screw (see diagram #2) on the bridge directly in line with the geared rack and low on the
bridge assembly. This set screw loads a friction clutch spring and clutch disk against the target side of the
geared rack creating friction. This arrangement allows you to add just enough friction to hold the weight
of your rifle. For these clutch adjustments use the 3/16” Allen wrench provided and start with about
1/8 turn or 45 degrees after the set screw contacts the friction disk. It does not take a lot of rotation on
the set screw to apply a lot of friction. Just go a little at a time or it will require more force than
necessary to lower and raise your bridge. The idea is to adjust the set screw/disk just enough to hold the
weight of the rifle. When properly adjusted the drive rod will move the bridge up and down smoothly
with low to moderate effort while looking through the scope but it will not move from the weight of the
rifle setting on it, or under recoil. NOTE: We set the friction clutch to hold 15 Lb which is approximately
the weight of the forearm on a 22Lb rifle.

if you notice it dropping, you haven't set this right.
