Rock chucker upgrade to rebel?

The old RC IV is as tough as they come. Many of us have beaten and abused them in our reloading rooms for decades and they take it with ease.

As long as a press goes up and down with little to no vertical flex and the ram has a little bit of play for the dies to line up with the shell holder properly, then they all work. The real “accuracy” comes from the dies when describing it in terms of headspace consistency and case runout. I can size Lapua brass with custom FL dies in my RC and have less than .001” runout on all dimensions

I would like to see pics and know more.
I don't really want to advertise the catchers here, so I sent you a PM with link to the website.

Regarding the original discussion, I had my RC IV for 20 years or so and added a Rebel when they came out - I like having a bit more space on the Rebel, but for some reason, keep using my RC IV (old habits... I assume). The Rebel is a good press in my opinion, but so is the RC IV - I would go with whatever is less expensive to get.

When I built my new shop I upgraded to the Rebel from the RC IV not because I needed to but I wanted to. The Rebel is a nice press for sure and I have no complaints at all but I don't think it does anything better than the IV. The one thing I did different that made all the difference in the world was add one of those inline fabrication press stands. It made everything so much more rigid and stable.

I use the RCBS Accessory Plate, it's about $30. A good/cheaper alternative if you're not moving stuff around a lot.

I’ve been using Inline Fab plates for years now. They are excellent! Highly recommend their products to anyone using multiple presses

Are the rebels as accurate as the supreme?
How are you meaning ‘accurate’?
The press has really nothing to do with accuracy. Convenience , ease of use, etc., but accuracy no. And of course some’ look’ better than others but what you use to insert the case or bullet has no effect on accuracy.

You may not want to advertise but I will for you! @The German products are great!! I've got his for the rebel and works flawlessly!

or even if you are moving stuff around a lot, I like my bench free so I mount the RCBS plate to 3/4 ply I use with the T tracks on my bench. Sometimes you can find them used and very cheap so it's just easier than making something. It might be a hack but it works just fine and quite rigid.

I use the business cards from my old job placed in the primer catcher with a rubber band to hold it in place. It stops 100% of the old removed primers from bouncing out onto the floor. Now those old cards have a real use vs handing them out to customers.
