F-class & prone competitors,

Please join us for the 2nd annual Roadrunner Rifle Club Championship, to be held October 29-31 at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility, AZ. The weather should be superb this time of year and we hope to build on the success of last year’s inaugural event. Trophies and medals will be awarded in all divisions with at least 5 competitors. Aggregate champions in divisions with a minimum of 5 competitors are guaranteed a $300 cash prize. The award amount will be increased as the competitor count grows beyond the minimum of 5.

This will be a 3-Day event and includes a 1,000-yard pair-firing competition on Friday, a 600-yard mid-range match on Saturday, and concludes with a 1,000-yard prone match on Sunday. Rifle divisions include Palma Rifle, Any Rifle (w/ any sights), F-Open, and F-TR. This is an NRA-regional championship.

We hope to see you at the end of October,

Scott Harris

This is one of, if not thee best run match anywhere! The competition will be fierce and the winners will definitely have "earned" their prizes! I wish I could go! However, I moved to Tennessee a few months back and since I don't fly, a 3 day drive is W-A-Y too much for me! I urge everyone who wants some very tough competition and loads of fun to go and enjoy>>>T-Rust me, it will be worth the effort!

Day 2 Results: 600 Yards
Thank you for all the hard work you and your entire team put into this match. It was a great weekend and wonderful time to make new friends — thanks for letting the Texans in, but we really need to talk about those Canadians.

The match is in the books and Ben Avery provided us a wide variety of conditions to compete in. You can find the daily and grand aggregate results here: https://www.roadrunnerrifleclub.com/match-results

You can also find the special V2 Series qualifying match results at the link above. This will be mailed to Jay today.

Congratulations to John Stewart, Marc Thibault, and Kelly Frank, our champions in F-Open, F-TR, and Any Rifle respectively. This event tested a wide range of abilities. Day 1 was a pair-firing event and matches 2/3 were quite windy. No running and gunning it on Day 1. Day 2 was a 600 yard match, probably the easiest conditions of the weekend, but with the usual Ben Avery low-wind trickery. Finally, day 3 was a 1,000 yard match with full-value winds of 0 to 10 mph.

Amazing Performances:
Day 1, 1,000 Yard Pair-Fire
-John Stewart’s 440-15X: rock solid in tough winds and the high score amongst all divisions
-Theodore Montano & Damon Martin: 150-10X, 150-9X respectively. These were the only cleans of the day!

Day 2, 600 Yards
-Pete Ricci & Keith Davis, grand seniors lapping the field with 200-18X individual match performances.
-Damon Martin with a 599-42X for the win. This is the second time in a row Damon has won our regional mid-range match. Eric Wuestenhoefer was nipping at his heels with a 599-41X.

Day 3, 1,000 Yards
-Mike Kelley, wins the 600 yard on his day 2 warm up after many months out of the sling. Follows this up with a wire to wire dominating win on Sunday. Nice shooting Mike!
-Robert Wood, 200-13X, always an impressive feat at 1,000 yards
-Eric Wuestenhoefer, following up a strong 600 yard performance with a dominating win at 1,000 yards. If only he had not cross-fired on Day 1…..he’ll be thinking about that before bedtime. J

Grand Aggregate
-John Stewart, rock solid 3 days of shooting. He did not win many individual stages, but he did dominate on the most difficult day (day 1) and was solid thereafter.
-Keith Davis, our grand-grand senior putting the hammer down with 3 consecutive days of impressive performances. He was just 2 points behind Mr. Stewart and had the high X-count amongst all competitors in every division. Nice!
-Team Canada: Marc Thibault and Gerry Wiens swept the F-TR division with solid performances all 3 days. Nice job gents!

See you on the line,
Scott & Christine Harris
