RL26 & 300 RUM

Has anyone done any work with RL26 and a .300 Remington ultra mag. ? I can find RL25 info, but since the RL26 is relatively new, there isn't as much info for it. I'm shooting a Remington700 SS synthetic, with 26" barrel, and Berger 210 VLD hunting bullets.

I'm sitting in a deer blind right now with a 300RUM I put together. Shooting 190s though...

I can't remember the charge offhand but it shoots them at 3130fps, into very small groups. I'm using it in my 7rem mag as well with 180s. At 3000fps!

I'm really liking RE26!

You may do better with Reloder 33. I am working up a load with Lehigh Defense 257 gr ELR bullets in a .338 Lapua (similar case capacity to the .300 RUM), and they reach 3000 fps easily; however, I did extend the throat to ~0.400 so the shank was above the neck-shoulder junction. The ELR bullets a copper solids with a long boat tail, so they take up a lot of room, and the load would have been highly compressed in a SAAMI chamber.

Rl26 would be the fastest burning powder that I would try with 210gr.
I'd load Retumbo or N570 or 8133.20201214_173034.jpg
Rl26 might be awesome but be ware of too much air space in this rocket hull of a case. You really want >90% case fill for this cartridge.

215 BERGER HYBRID
FED 215 PRIMERS
87.5 GRS RELODER 26 3170 FPS
I BUMP SHOULDERS .002 AND .001 NECK TENSION
2.25" @ 500 YARDS

RL-26 is an interesting powder. On paper it's too slow for a 33-28 Nosler (has about two grains less case capacity than the 340 Wby). Yet 89 grains have me 3170 fps with 225 TTSXs.

RL-26 is not in the correct spot on that new 'burn-rate" chart. - It is deffinately faster burning than RL-25.
It surely isn't right above H-1000 in anything I've tried from a 243 AI to a 338 Lapua Imp.

Thanks for all your inputs,,, Trouble we are having, is finding powders right now. Would love to get a variation and try them all, but RL 26 was all we could find.
