I know this thread is about a year old, but I had some pretty interesting results the other day using RL16 and 140 grain Sierra match kings. Someone may find them useful
Cartridge components:
Caliber, 6.5 Creedmoor
Brass, starline (small primer)
Primer, federal gold medal match
Bullet, 140 grain Sierra match king
Powder, Reloader 16
COAL, 2.80 (fits magazine, and seats bullet to lands of rifling)
All loading was done with lee dies and a lee turret press
Powder was dispensed from a hornady auto charge
Rifle used was a Remington 700 with Nikon 3-12x scope, 20” bbl 1:8 twist, not shooting off the bipod
For testing I loaded 10 rounds each at 41.6, 41.8, 42.0, 42.2, 42.4
5 rounds of each were fired at 100 yards and then at 200. This is the longest range I’ve had the opportunity to test, I’m still pretty new to reloading and rifle shooting in general for that matter. Anyhow, here are my results at 100 yards.

The top left was 41.6, scope wasn’t quite on target.
The bottom right was 41.8, also still moving dials on the scope, best to ignore these groups.
Top right 42.0
Bottom left 42.2
Center 42.4 (starting to show pressure signs)
The best group by a long shot was 42.0, it’s almost 1/2 moa
Next, the 200 yard groups

Results for these groups are
Center 41.6
Top left 41.8
Top right 42.0
Bottom left 42.2
Bottom right 42.4 (starting to show pressure signs, primers beginning to flatten)
Once again, the 42.0 grain round was a significantly better .8” group. All rounds were fired off my backpack, placed on a table, used as a rest. All of the 100 yards shots were fired before moving out to 200 yards. I was very pleased to find that one round in particular stood out in both tests. For those looking for a nice shooting target round for the Remington 700, I’d recommend the 42.0 grain loading, it was also very comfortable to shoot compared to the hotter loads. I would also like to point out that I used small rifle primers which are not the standard. I also apologize for not having any info on velocity. I hope to load up some more rounds to chrono in the near future.
I hope someone finds this information useful, it’s a pretty common list of components from what I understand.
