RL26 anyone now were i can find an updated burn rate chart with it in there?
Anyone try it in a
6.5 saum?

I think finding an accurate place on the burn rate chart will be difficult. I have been trying to find out where it falls too. If you look on the Alliant site and go to some of the cartridges that Hodgdon's does for H1000 you will find some wild swings. In some cartridges it has considerably MORE powder than H1000 and in other cartridges, less! Quickload has it as slower than H1000, however, my old gunsmith in Houston uses it extensively in a 7mm SAUM A.I. and swears it is faster than H1000.. In any case, if you load up from a mild load and work UP, you will find it's max. AND I think it would be a GREAT powder for the 6.5 SAUM..RL26 anyone now were i can find an updated burn rate chart with it in there?

I think you are exactly right! I have done fairly extensive work now with RL-23. According to Alliant, RL-23 is SLOWER than RL-22. However, my experience with it shows it to be a bit faster than H4831SC. As a matter of fact, I think RL-23 is only VERY slightly slower than RL-19! According to my old 'smith in Houston, RL-26 is between IMR 7828 and H1000.In the instances that I've used RL 26 I found it to be appx 3 to 4 grains faster that RL 25, but generally gave more velocity. I would say it would be between RL 22 and RL 25, closer to RL 22. I have also found , that RL 22 is slower that RL 23. I think that Alliant has screwed up with these #'s.
Don't know if it will help you, but I've tried RL-26 in a 6.5 wildcat LA with 280 parent. RL-26 gives me 3,160 fps w/61.0 gr. Retumbo gives me 3,155 fps w/64.3 gr. The 26 is a denser powder, so the fill ratio is different.RL26 anyone now were i can find an updated burn rate chart with it in there?

It falls between N170 and Retumbo
Thanks I appreciate all the replies.
Any of you try it in a 6.5 saum and willing to share your load info?
I would start 5-10 percent lower.

Thanks that sounds about right.I have tried it in my 6.5 Rem Mag with 140gr Berger Hunting VLDs. I am using 59gr and pushing them at 3209 fps from a 26" barrel. The 6.5 SAUM has about 4gr more case capacity than the 6.5 Rem Mag, so IF YOU ARE USING 140GR BULLETS, I would start at about 57gr and work up. Should be plenty safe. Probably end up around 60gr in the end if going for top speeds.
