RL 19 temp sensative ?

Planing an elk hunt in Dec, temp could be any where from 20 to 60 deg.
In a 300 WSW, 200 gr Barnes. I haven't worked up a load yet but
the powders on hand are rl 19 and 7828ssc. Which would be the better choice?
Thanks
John H.

Both powders are very good . It just depends which will give best accuracy in your rifle . Wait till Oct./Nov. to work up and test your loads . This will give you the best window for temperature tolerance . Even with the so called "Extreme temp " powders you are still going have some group and POI differences if your work up loads are done in the summer . The biggest factor changes to your loads will be moisture or humidity and elevation changes .

Also, don't forget about the angle of the shot which can be pretty extreme in the mountains.
Combination of elevation, temperature, shot angle, and swirling winds require some thought before taking a long shot.
Hope you get a "Big Six" or better.

OK , you know i forgot all about elevation change. I am at 3000 now and will be
hunting at 6500
Thanks

That's a huge difference in elevation that will most likely affect your POI . Sight in or re-sight in when you get there . Cover this with your guide before you get there .
