Thanks Dusty ,much appreciated . I thought the bases had the Talley look but dismissed that idea because I had no idea they would be compatible with each other .They are burris signature rings, talley dovetail, with bases to fit a 700.
I first thought of Ruger but the plastic inserts threw me off . ThanksI see where I went wrong.
1) Did not scroll to see bases
2) Ruger would have their recess on the bore line I.......think.
Glad you were steered right.![]()
I just tried Rugers, they actually do fit....but the rings get sucked off center when tightening .It seems like Burris(my fav w inserts) were made for the Ruger at one time. But, it's been abt 15 years since I sold my last 77V Swift. Too foggy.
:-/
These sure are different from todays Burris Zee rings. Looks like a good combo. I did not see any identifier as to eccentric thickness on plastic inserts.
Attached is a photo of Burris Zee rings on a Picatinny base on a 62 YO FN Mauser (rodent rifle) with an investment cast Ruger M77 ring (just resting on scope for demo).
I think Burris should make their Signature rings for Ruger M77 rifles. Having the eccentric inserts would make for better adjustments especially if +20, -20 were used in the rear ring for long range. The Ruger M77 with its integral mount system was never intended to be any type of serious target rifle so it probably won't happen.
Some actions come almost standard with warne bases like borden hunting actions and the one i have from dakotaThanks again for the ID help folks . With the positive ID I have decided to put them up for sale in the classifieds, excess to my needs . I use Signature Zee rings on my rifles with Weaver style bases,I think I will keep them all the same so no need for these.
