Ring opinions ?

Im looking for a set of tall rings and was thinking of a set of xtra tall Burris XTR Signature rings which list to be 1.5 high. What do you all think?

I only use Burris Signature rings. The offset inserts let me conserve scope adjustments, and they self-align so lapping is never needed. The inserts grip the tube really well, and I've never had them mark the tube. I use the Zee rings when I can, and the scope holds zero after remounting. The Tactical XTR rings are overkill, but they look cool (6 screws on each cap? really?); I'm using them on a Ruger Magnum Precision Rifle in .338 Lapua and they work well, but tightening all 12 screws each time I adjusted the offset was a PITA.

The only reason i was thinkingof the XTR rings is the height as the zee rings only go to 1.18 where the xtr go to 1.5.

I generally shoot a higher scope than anyone around but 1.5" is awfully high. I shoot the 1.25" XTR or the 1.00" on top of an EGW base. Wonderful rings, but the screws work loose. I just check them often. Worth it to me.

Depends on your use. For bench shooting the options are endless and Burris Zee isn’t a bad choice. For rough country hunting or PRS you might want something a little tougher like a one piece mount from NightForce or Spuhr.
NightForce and Spuhr also make really nice 2 piece ring sets. Seekins are also top notch quality

Benchrest use.

well then use whatever decent ring you want. Rifle is probably 17+/- lbs and a low recoil 6mm round. So no special strength needed on a coddled bench gun. Lots of good choices out there.

The rifle will be around 13.5lbs and is a 30cal 30br.
