Ring mark on fired brass

What is the ring mark on fired brass?



I check all detail and their are not any pressure sign. Brass was Virgin lapua brass

Left was new brass

Right was fired brass

It looks like a mild imperfection in the chamber which could be polished out to me. Unless I am not seeing what you are seeing. Can you feel it with your finger nail?

It look a shiny ring on mid of case body. Check by hand and it was smooth. Nothing scratch.

If the ring is the same height from the cartridge base on all of the brass, then it's probably a slight imperfection in the chamber. If it's at random heights, then it's probably imperfections in the brass. If you can't feel it with your fingernail or a pointed tool (pencil), I'd say just let it be. I would keep an eye on the inside of the cases for a separation ring as you cycle through them over their life, though.

I second checking the inside for early case separation. A bent paper clip run along the inside from base to shoulder would do it. If you feel a bump at the same spot as the ring it may be an issue. Something tells me you know this already though.
