Rimx before the rain @50

Put a Shilen Ratchet that friend gave me to try out ! It was first barrel he purchased back when you could get Shilen barrels without waiting . It was a blank heavy barrel straight taper . He purchased a Manson match reamer and we both had never chambered a rimfire so it was a learning experience for both of us . Since it was RimX no extractor cuts were necessary . We finally chambered barrel and headspaced after we both decided on the chamber depth . Long story short short barrel shot good but not great and got pulled off and set aside and did three more barrels and he wasn’t happy with accuracy and sold action and barrels but kept the first Shilen barrel . I purchased a RimX barreled action a couple of weeks ago and it came with Lilja 24” and it shoots really good . I decided to grab the old Shilen Ratchet and put it on my action with Bix’n Andy prox trigger with LOW SEAR ! Necessary for RimX ! They don’t tell you that but found out later ! I think that was my friends first Rimx accuracy problems and noticed a slight hard bolt close with his but we didn’t know why . Anyway here is a fast shot ARA target with some old SK Biathlon ammo he gave me when I got Shilen from him . It was fixing to rain ! Lol

I guess it’s not that great ! Need to shoot unlimited target next time ! But it still was fun when gun shoots with cheap ammo and it goes where you aim instead of all over the place .
