We have a monthly rimfire Varmint shoot at Western Wayne Conservation Club in Michigan. We will be starting our season here in April and runs through October. They are a fun benchrest varmint matches on Saturdays and Sundays at our 100-yard range. Rimfire rifles, either .17 or 22 with an entry fee of $10.00. There is no limit on time to shoot your practice/sight-in and your 5 scoring targets. See the attached calendar for dates and starting times. There are no class distinctions, we just shoot what you have and have some fun doing it. That said, autoloaders do get a 20% bigger target as they are inherently less accurate. There is a small Lewis payback for each shoot, amount depending on how many shooters. So, come on out, shoot have some fun and meet others. Depending on how many shooters it might be necessary to run a second relay.
As I said these are just fun matches and you generally push yourself to get better. We shoot 5 different targets, 5 shoots per target with a possible score of 250/15x. Best edge scoring is used. There are 3 targets with a “X” count giving that possible 15x. Even though these are fun shoots, competition will be stiff (see attached targets).
See the club website for general information and directions.
