Doesn't the post office run in your area? Location means nothing to me if I need a great craftsman.

They sure do. I was just hoping to finds a quality rimfire smith in the area. ( I just moved down this way)
within driving distance.

While I agree with you about location being a post office away, I prefer to personally meet anyone doing that kind of work, if at all possible.

Fortunately I know several great smiths. The last thing I would do is rest my chin on their shoulder. Do your due diligence, ship it to him, and don't bother them with emails and phone calls. If you have problems, you didn't do your due diligence.

Phone calls are one of the hardest things to cope with. I do enjoy SOME conversations with outside of our state customers, but the more time that I'm on the phone, the less time I'm at my mill, bench or lathe. When folks want me to search for obsolete parts, they don't seem to understand that that takes time and will involve my hourly rate. I'd rather have them search for the parts, and me, spend the time I need to spend at my bench. If anything emails are better, and I can do them on my lunch break.
That really upsets some folks, so it seems they think I'm here just for THEIR issues. I am, but not exclusively, sometimes others need services performed also, and most often there are others ahead of them.
Now, I don't mean for this to read harshly, it's part of doing internet business and having a web-site, and I'm continually looking for a 19-20 year old 5' 11" Norwegian girl with all the desired assets needed to be a secretary.

Not sure where you are in FL, but Whidden Gunworks has done all my rimfire work.
They are in South GA, only a couple of hours from Jacksonville. Excellent work and THE best people!

Gordy Gritters is one of the best and yes he is in Fla. Google em and Like Butch said do your due diligence.
