Rimfire scope for red squirrels

Putting together the ultimate red squirrel rig and looking for a rimfire scope with retical that would be quick on these little devils, I was thinking about maybe a circle style retical, you guys have any ideas please share, thanks..

If I'm shooting any kind of squirrel with a 22, I want a scope with enough magnification to make the head look big at my given range, and a cross hair reticle to place my shot. Nothing quite like knocking them in the noggin. jd
