Rimfire Gallery--Show Us Your Gun

Thanks @RoyHubert for the stock I got from you. It took me a while but I have my single shot 52 in it.

It’s more adjustable, weightier, prettier, and more special for sure, than the factory.

i shot this group at 102 yards today.

One of my high power shooting buddies is really good at helping his friends spend money on gun stuff...he sent me the link to this Doan Trevor-stocked CMP 52D on one of the online auction sites, and because I really like the H&H pattern stock, I bought it. Then I let it slip that I was interested in a vintage target scope, and he found this 16x Unertl 1-1/2" Target for sale. Doan had shortened the butt of this stock so the original owner could use Anschutz buttplate parts, which weren't included in the sale. I wound up buying a MEC 140 Contact III adjustable buttplate for it. Wasn't at all impressed with the accuracy shooting exceptional lots of SK Rifle Match & Lapua Center-X, but when I tried several lots of Eley Match left over from lot testing in another rifle, it tuned right up and grouped well.

Sometimes it's just fun to see how far I can make a 22lr pistol shoot. First is a Freedom Arms 83 10" silhouette. Made a 40moa mount with ears to bolt side plates that straddle the action to allow a platform for a bi-pod and a rear monopod. Topped with a 16X SWFA scope it does amazingly well to 400 yards.

This is an Anschutz Exemplar built by Gene Davis with a 15 7/8" Shilen Ratchet barrel and a one off ARS ELR chassis. Topped off with 58moa mount/rings and a Arken 6-24 SH-4 Gen II scope it easily competes with the top rifles at local longrange rimfire matches and can dial to 550 yards.

gun's ok

bipod-tripod-rest is freakin' awesome!

Finished the new stock this summer on the wife’s Anschutz she uses for handgun silhouette. Bastogne walnut stock 130F2BC3-4BEE-46B8-A6F0-698DAFCE8C22.jpegblank I found in California. Stock designed by myself, the wife and Roy in Oklahoma who did the carving and bedding. I completed the final sanding and finish. Metal work was previously crafted by Mike Dewey in California with Shilen 8 groove. It shoots right at 1 moa at 100 meters in not so perfect wind with RWS 50.

2A.email Reviews - My Lithgow 101 - At the Range on Oct 1, 2021

Specs in previous Posts.

As I wrote in my post of May 22, the 101 REALLY needs a much lighter trigger for the bench. I remeasured today: 3 - 3.25 lbs.

To that end, I order and have received Lithgow LA101 - trigger spring set from Lumley Arms https://lumleyarms.us/ which, their web site claims will be 1.6 lbs when installed correctly.

I have yet installed. I wish I could get to <1 lb but, I'll take what I can get.

Although I'm usually not hesitate to do my own "gunsmithing", in this I'll employ a smith to install, as the instructions suggest.

Also, I removed the Mueller Scope and installed my Leupold 35x45

Limbsaver Barrel Deresonator Installed on at Target 13

Yes, the targets below are the best of the day; I'm doing my best to test the rifle - not my terrible shooting skills especially reading the wind.

Fifty Yards

Ballistic X Mobile App. :
Target 2 1.081 MOA
Target 4 0.872 MOA
Target 5 0.778 MOA
Target 6 0.723 MOA
Target 8 0.898 MOA

Deresonator Installed on at Target 13
Target 13 1.150 MOA
Target 18 0.754 MOA
Target 20 0.973 MOA

More data is needed to determine affect of Barrel Deresonator.

What was the range the groups were shot at?

2A.email Reviews - My CZ 457 - IMPRESSIVE!! At the Range on Oct 15, 2021

CZ 457 PROVARMINT
SUPPRESSOR-READY
16.5 in Barrel Length
Leupold 35x45
Harris Bipod
Eley Tenex

The trigger pull is noticeable less that the Lithgow 101 (see previous blog posts for details).

The both action is very smooth and locks smoothly too. Ammunition inserts into the chamber without issue and brass ejection was excellent. All better than the Lithgow which occasionally would not load the round into chamber; the lead bullet would 'buggered up" and had to decarded. "Buggered up" is a legitimate scientific and engineering term. LOL!

I like the lever on the left side of the action allowing easy bolt removal.

I cleaned the barrel well before shooting and after 'zeroing' the scope, the first group was OUTSTANDING!

I noticed the group starting to spread about 25 rounds, cleaned and groups tighten back up.

Repeated again after the next 25 rounds.

According to the Manufacture's Manual, the trigger pull is set in the range of 11.1–14 N (2.5 - 3 lbs.) I measure at 2.25 to 3 lbs which I suspect will be less as it breaks in The trigger pull weight and is ADJUSTABLE. HOW COOL!!! I'm looking forward to experimenting!!

Updated my Winder Lowall with a Benchmark stainless barrel full octagon. Had the barrel Cerakoted for a more traditional look. Shown with a DZ Arms 8x scope.
