We do it here, but with five banks of animals out to two hundred yards. It’s a LOT of fun!

drags

Sorry, I always do that out of habit. It’s actually meters. There are actually four different club matches that I shoot with. Three of them shoot the exact same match with just a very slight variation on the rules, and use the same set of animals, but are different from the ones you mentioned that are typically used for most of the offhand matches shot across the country.

The fourth club match I shoot made up an entirely different set of rules and animals. The shapes of the targets they made up themselves and they shoot at six different banks/distances (sixty round match). I won’t even try to explain that one, but the silhouettes are tiny.

The other more standardized matches I mentioned are in order from the smallest/nearest to the largest/farthest:

Owl - 65 Meters
Prairie Dog - 75 Meters
Rabbit - 100 Meters
Fox - 150 Meters
Coyote - 200 Meters

Total of fifty rounds allowed for a possible score of fifty. If anyone is interested I can post a pic of the animals, as I own a practice set for myself set up as swingers.

I'm not interested. It would give us something to compare too. Any scores you're willing to share?

Post is a little cryptic. So you’re not interested or you are? :D

The scores are based on whatever you are rated at. There’s A, AA, AAA or Masters Class. Not really sure what exactly constitutes each but it’s all based on what you previously scored for a certain number of matches. When you start out you are unrated, then once you shoot a few matches they assign you to the appropriate class.

Very few people have scored fifty. Conditions would have to be about perfect with little to no wind. I’ve come close but never did get a perfect score. Maybe one of these days. . .
