Was a sleeper among us

This morning I shot my little cz452 22lr in a club rimfire Silhouette match. Chickens at 40y, pigs 50, turkeys 75 and rams 100. 10 shots at each for a total of 40 shots. It was crazy windy. CRAZY! A storm coming, 10-15 gusting. In our face then full value. Wind even knocks some target down. About 20 shooters. A couple folks withdrew early. "Sissys". I did ok on chickens 7, wind in my face. Pigs at 50 are rather easy 7 but the wind is starting to switch. Man oh man those turkeys at 75 are tough. The body on the pig is 5" but long. The turkey is 5 1/2" and basically round. Now the wind is full value and I've got my feet spread wide for stability. Only got 3 boohoo. I'd been watching the others targets and felt pretty confident I was in the lead. Wind didn't get any better and only got 3 rams for a total of 20. So with the terrible conditions I though I had this. Scores can out and WHAT! Somebody shot a 21! Well her name is Sara and she's 13 years old. She was with her grandparents and she's been shooting for 6 years. WHAT!!!

Great too see a young person, and a young lady too boot, doing this type of activity.. Now you know one you will have to practice to beat.

Oh, sorry....

I've said for years, teach a female how to shoot, basic lessons, get her a gun that fits her properly, and in no time she will be outshooting your sorry a$$!!

My wife started shooting a few years ago. She's at the range 3-4 times a year.
I'm at the range almost every weekend, and she outshoots me with any of my rifles.

I keep after her to do some competitions, but she has no interest in that.

Women are usually good shooters. They dont have the bad habits men developed shooting as a kid. Im sure youve all heard stories of the inner city kids in basic training having never held a rifle outshooting all the good ole boys. Same thing.

Dusty is correct,first time I took my wife shooting I just shut my mouth and let her do her thing . Unorthodox style to me,but man can she shoot.

Yeah, that dumb look on their face when they shoot 10 into the center and say "is that good". Lord help me..

I volunteer at a state range as a RSO and also help with the new shooter classes. Women seem to listen to instruction better. I love the grin when it all comes together for them.
