We have a monthly benchrest shoot at Western Wayne conservation Club in Michigan. We will be starting our season here in April and it goes through October. These are .22RF benchrest matches, club level shooters for the enjoyment of shooting benchrest. These are non-sanctioned matches. Theses matches are on Saturdays and Sundays at our 200-yard range shooting at 50 and 100 yards at the IBS target (see attached). We have full concrete benches at our 200-yard range. There are 3 classes of rifles, unlimited, modified factory and factory. Entry fee is $20.00 and lunch is provided. Lunch is simple hotdogs, chips and pop. There is a 15-minute practice/sight-in session before the first relay. The match consists of 3 scoring targets and you have 20 minutes to shoot each target. There is a brake between targets to relax and/or clean your gun. There is a small Lewis payback for each match, amount depending on how many shooters. We have 18 benches, so depending on how many shooters it might be necessary to run a second relay. So, come on out, shoot have some fun and meet others.
As I said these are just fun matches and you generally push yourself to get better. Each target makes it possible to score of 250/25x. Best edge scoring is used. A possible total for the match is 750/75 x’s. Even though these are fun shoots, competition will be stiff.
