Right eye dominant, can't close right eye lid to look out spotting scope!!

I am right eye dominant and can't close the right eye while leaving the left eye open! So setting up the spoting scope on the left side of the rifle does me no good. How do others deal with this?

Put tape over the right side of your shooting glasses. I had to do this when I started. I still have to cover my right eye with a shooters hat. If I close my right eye to shoot after a while it will start twitching and then I screw up both eyes.

Are you shooting in prone position, or at the bench? When I was young, I had the same problem, not being able to close my dominant left eye, (while leaving my right eye open) but I can do it now. Mine was not a spotting scope issue, and shooting left handed (even though I am right handed) solved the problem. Luckily that was easy for me, because I started that way.

The military has taught me how to shoot with both eyes open. It takes a bit to get used to but it works well. When I'm looking through the rifle scope or spotting scope both eyes are open.
