had something strange happen yesterday was at work and had my rifle in the back of the car because i had been hunting in the morning take it to work most days because there are usualy varmints about to shoot at lunch time .anyway it was a sunny day and the car was parked in the sun.when i got in it to go home it was hot inside obviously.on the way home spotted a hooded crow in a field at 200 yards thought this was a sitter got out only to find the bolt was very tight to close on my round decided best not to fire it.tried 5 rounds in it and none would go in easily could not understand this and was well anoyed as i always check my rounds chamber before i load them all up to avoid this sort of situation.when i got home i took the rifle inside made a cup of coffee and sat down to think over the problem.
about 15 mis ahad past since the rilfe had been out of the car and in the cool of the house.decided to try a round in it from the same batch of ammo to my surprise i chamberd perfectly then tried all the the original rounds i had had the problems with earlier and all chambers perfectly .so i came to the conclusion the chamber of my rifle must have expanded ever so slightly due to the heat.
has anyone had this problem before would be intrested to know checkeed the rilfes zero that evening and it was spot on.
