Just got a notification from Red Hawk Rifles that this weekend up to $50 off everything Grayboe. Looks like it’s taken off in the cart after selecting the item.

I have several HS precision stocks that came with Remington Sendero rifles, and they function well. However when a company uses [Lon Horuichi] as company spokes person i tend to not do any business with them.

I think that I need to get in the shop and build a stock. I have walnut boards that were grown on my cousins farm and they are wide enough to make a stock. I think that i will use my A-5 as a pattern only make it thinner than the Mc Millan verson. At least thinner in the butt stock section and the forend, maybe not in the midsection where the action is inletted.

I like a vertical grip as well so when I build a stock I copy with that in mind and then slim down the rest. The other thing you can do is use wood that is a little lighter and laminate together to keep the strength but drop the weight. You can use a carbon fiber fabric in between layers as well to keep strength. By combining a few of these things you can still keep a thicker fore end if you like to shoot your hunting rifles off the bench without adding to much weight for carry.
If you like building your own its a good and fairly inexpensive but time consuming route. Otherwise some of the earlier suggestions are great stocks, just pricier to a lot of degrees.
