Rifle scope on pistol for short people ?

Ok so here's a bit of an odd one g for y'all. So I'm not a big pistol guy but getting into it a little with this lil TC contender I got in 7TCU... So fair I was just using this lil cheapo reflex sight because this is just a fun gun more then anything and worked decent . Also for $30 I just kinda wanted to see how long it would last :D

Well decided to get an actual pistol scope for it in the form of this UTG 2-7 ( sorry not dropping $400 on a scope for this when all I do is bang steel with cast bullets...might shoot a pig or something eventually) and what I'm finding is I gotta actually lean my head back a decent bit to get that nice full picture in the scope. It's not the most comfortable thing in the world. Only thing I can figure is since I'm a pretty short guy with short arms ( I'm 5'1" and most of my stuff looks like it's set up for youth shooters :D ) the scope just ain't really the best for me since the deal is probably set up for more ... Average, sized / arm length people.

I mean I think I could make it work for bench shooting without too much fuss. but as far as more "Field/hunting" shots/ positions idk. With all that being said I was looking and honestly seems my eye to scope deal on a pistol is a little longer then most people with rifles so was thinking maybe I could just use a compact rifle scope or LPVO ? Has anyone tried something like this ? Or would something else be a better option? Because I could always get a EGW pic rail and use a low profile cantilever mount to pust it further forward . I've had to do that on a few rifles before due to the eye box on the scope.

But anyhow wanted to see what y'all thought or if y'all had any experience on this ? Might just be lack of proper form on my part idk .
Thanks :)

I've had rifle scopes on Contenders. The Weaver V-16 mounted on a long barreled .22KHornet comes to mind. I'd be careful with the harder recoiling cartridges, though. On .17s and .22s, not too much of a problem.

Keep an eye on the classified ads here. Variable power pistol scopes show up occasionally and most are priced reasonable. It’s hard to beat a Bushnell Trophy 2-6X on the used market

I've run 8.5-25x50 Leupolds on my prairie dog rigs in the past.

Another option would be one of the scout style scopes made in the late 90s, early 2k.
Some were 2-1/2, 2-3/4, 4x and 2-7×.
Burris and Leupold made a bunch of them.

Also, as Tony mentioned above the Bushy 2-6 or an old B&L 2-6 would work without too much bother.

Lastly, you can still buy 1" 0moa cantilever mounts. That might fix your problem without having to buy another optic.

If you can look at the specs on as many scopes as you can. You may find a rifle scope with longer eye relief or a pistol scope with short eye relief.
Even an inch or two can make enough difference.
Some pistol scopes are made for people who can scratch their knees without bending over.

scout scopes work well, I have and use ACCUSHOT scout scopes found them on Midway kinda uggly cheap enough just to try, But you don't have to stretch what you don't have, I have short arms too

Rifle scopes on Contenders were commonly used in NRA LR Standing Pistol Silhouette up to and including the 7 TCU with heavy bullets. Most opted for muzzle brakes on the 7 TCU, but some did not. I used a Super 14 in 6.5 TCU with 120 MK's using a 6.5-20 X Leupold set on 6.5X -- the longest eye relief I could find in a quality rifle scope, and never was hit, but sometimes was close, but never seriously considered a brake. Check the various optic companys' specifications for eye relief. The other good idea was mentioned by Mike above -- the Scout type scope. That's what I settled on for my Savage Striker (bolt action) -- works for rifle calibers.

I have several Leopold 2.5-8s on pistols.
Pistol scopes can be picky with eye positioning.

Throw a Leupold 2x on it, put a sling on the barrel (with a barrel band) and a stud in the base plate of the stock. LAy down on your back. Pull your knees up. wrap the sling around your knees. Make sure the barrel is past your lower leg!!! Otherwise you can perforate it or tear it up with muzzle blast. spread your knees to lock the gun aside your leg. Wrap your off hand behind your head to lift it and steady it. Bingo...sight picture, solid form and shoot away. I've shot several deer this way.

All fine and dandy if the grass isn't 3 feet high.
That's why I use a tripod.
The old Creedmoor style is solid though, if you can use it.

I started to use the rifle scopes probably about 40 years ago now, I just couldn't get used to the limited fov on the pistol scopes. You'll find that you learn to shoot with bent arms so ya can get up on the scope more.
