Rifle Scope on a Pistol?

I am looking to buy a rifle scope for my 223 Encore pistol. I definitely wouldn't do this for my bigger calibers, but I have never had a problem with the recoil on this setup (I had a rifle scope on it before). I wanted your opinions on the Burris Fulfield II 4.5-14 and the Nikon Buckmaster 6-18. I would like the Leupold VX-II 6-18, but that is a step up in price that I would rather spend on my rifles. I am mainly shooting off a bench inside 200 yards, so tracking and durabillity aren't the biggest factors. I won't be clicking for elevation. Mainly, I am concerned with clarity and at least a little forgiveness on eye-relief. Thanks.

Either of those 2 scopes will do you a good job.
A friend has a 6x18 Buckmasters on his 25/284 XP-100.
I have a 5.5x22x50 NXS on my 25/284 XP-100...
Never a problem with either of them on the handguns...

I have a Leupold 8.5-25 LRT on my center grip XP. The generous eye relief coupled with a muzzle brake allows for a pleasurable shooting specialty pistol.

Ok...

Ridgeway asked--Appears to be something attached to the door/window?

Thats my window rest, it's a 8x12" piece of plywood bolted in the center to a length of 2x4 thats slotted to ride on the window, and it rotates 360 degrees..
The window crank gives me all the elevation I need....
It's the end of April, I wish my NEO was on the way Ernie.....

For a 223, you can get by with scopes that don't have as much eye relief.
I would encourage you to go to the scopes web sites and see what their eye relief is at the highest and lowest magnifications. Get the ones that have the best eye relief at the highest power.

I am regretting starting this thread. My stick seems so inadequate by comparison. I still wonder how that 375 feels. I thought it would be fun to unscrew the muzzlebrake from my 300 Win Mag one day...not pleasant to shoot many rounds like that. Thankfully I do have a pistol scope on that one.

My BFP " big frigging pistol" chambered in 25-284 it's another one of Preacher's builds and as you can see from his first test target she don't shoot half bad either. In this picture she was wearing Preacher's Nightforce, I've since put a 8-32x56 SIII on it. She weighs in at just over 14lbs with it 22" full bull barrel, it's a switch barrel rig with the 2nd barrel chambered in 22br.
