Rifle Range Locator!

We have recently launched a tool which has proven to be highly successful. You can find that tool here: Rifle Range Locator - Applied Ballistics LLC With its limited time online it already has hundreds of users utilizing it. But we need your help. On the internet you can find hundreds of lists, mostly broken, with range listings. While I am still entering new ranges daily in to the database, I would like to invite the public to help us out. Notify your local ranges to sign up for this tool! Let the range director know that this is a free tool that is seeing regular traffic. In fact*not*15 minutes goes by that*a new users isn't actively on this tool. If you do not see your favorite range on the list, let them know all they need to do is fill out a simple form with information about their facilities, and we will add them.

In order to get that form, they simply need to go to our contact page: Contact - Applied Ballistics LLC and for the subject pick "Rifle Range Locator". Note they must sign up, members cannot sign up and fill the form out for them. So far we have had over 100 ranges in 10 different countries opt in to this system and we are just waiting for their forms to come back filled out. What makes this system different, is that it has annual verification. So if a range fails to re-up the computer will automatically remove them. This removes ranges that are no longer up and running form the active list, keeping broken listings to a minimum.

Please share this with your local range, so that we can expand this list for user we need the publics help hunting down those small hard to find ranges!

Side Note: If this expands enough, we will re-vamp the list to include 300-700 yard listings and 800+ yard listings at two different search options. So smaller ranges can sign up at this time incase that happens.

I see 600 yard ranges don't count. Too bad, I shoot them often.

First, I need to make sure that the tool is worth having up by seeing how many users hit it over the next month. It is still growing, and its a brand new tool. This is a one man operation managing this tool, and both websites. Their are literally thousands of ranges from 300 - 700 yards in the US. I need to first make sure that the time/effort are worth the want. If it maintains its current course of users, then I will expand it, which is why the side note for smaller ranges is on the original post. Today, only about 150 users have used the tool.

I will most likely expand to include the ability to switch between a 300 - 700 and a 800+ yard search. I first need to make sure the traffic is there. As it stands, this is one of the top 5 resources on our website, and if that remains you can be assured that smaller ranges will start to be included.

Keep in mind this is new, and a 1 man operation to maintain both websites and all the tools/features on them. Growth is not out of the question on this.

Just sent the sign up page to a guy in northern Florida who goes out to 850. Just not sure how much interest he has since most of his business is trap, skeet and sporting clays. Two rifle ranges. One to 300 and the other to 850 (with his club certification only) two pistol ranges as well. If I read it right, your saying out to 800, so a range could have a 500 or 600 as long as they could go to 800 right?

This is correct. Its still early to tell, but people are using this tool. Right now I have 5 users searching it, 1 is in Jacksonville Florida, 1 is in Kansas City Kansas, 1 is in California.... we have 18 people on the website right now.... Its changing as I type this, however 50% of our users are on the Ranges site. So now I have 9 people using that tool. all over the world. So if that gives you any idea, it jumped from 5 to 9, now its down to 4 etc... All in the time it took to type this. That's why its going to look like a mess when I press post reply.

It's a good tool for sure. When I shot sporting clays all over the US I used something similar that NSCA had put together. Came in very handy when travelling and looking for a club or range.
