[Rocky Mt High]

I picked this Remington 600 in .222 up on a whim several years ago cuz it looks custom and cool. Was wondering if any knows who may have done the work or seen one before? Any info appreciated.

Factory barrel? Any markings on the butt plate?
I have no idea but it looks like a Bishop like stock with no checkering with a lengthened fore end. Could be any random guy with some wood working skills.

I thought the Mohawk was the shorter barreled version with fixed sights. The stock on this one is definitely a custom modification.

I like and built one for my Grandson in 6x47Lapua. If I had yours I would fine a good stockmaker to try to remove the long fore end and the Monte Carlo, but that is my opinion only. The 222 is a great cartridge.

It’s a 600. I have a Mohawk and it says ‘Mohawk’ plainly on the receiver. On this one the vent rib posts have been ground down and it’s been reblued All real nice work. I don’t think it’s just an after market stock only, some kinda special project.

It ain't aftermarket, it is a one off.

Looks like either a Bishop or Fajen stock someone put that action into. Could have been the previous owner or someone he knew. Back in the 60's a lot of actions were put into one of those stocks, which were selling like hotcakes then.

Fajen and Bishop both sold some decent simi-inlets.

Without a “makers mark” the possibilities are huge. I just put one together and didn’t put a name on it. I just put same parts on an old action.
