Rifle case for 51" rifle

For flying this is what I use (Pelican Storm im3410) becuase it's slimmer than the double rifle cases and helps make the 50lb limit easier.

For soft cases I use these https://alnk.to/5ugSGKA and actually put them into the pelican case when flying for protection. Gun in soft case in hard case.
Thank you John. I am not sure why I was not able to find that one on the site when I was looking.

I like that this case is 5lb lighter as well and available with free shipping on Amazon.

Thanks to everyone who replied.

For those who mentioned the Harbor Freight Apache cases, those are good cases. That is what I have now but the interior length is less that 51" which is why I am shopping for options.

I had seen some of the soft case options but due to some past experiences, I am specifically looking for a hard case.

As much as I hate seeing Chinese knock offs of made in USA products, that case is almost like the original Pelican.
I bought the HF case for vehicle use to our gun club. I wouldn't use it for airline travel. That duty is assigned to an SKB two rifle unit.

There are many custom case builders, making cases for the film and music business. Might be worth a try if you cant find exactly what you need. The components are also easy to locate/obtain - i have built a few in my time. The weight is in whatever panel material you choose.

I've got several Pelicans, but got this Apache last Christmas. I added the Magpul DAKA and fell in love, so I ordered another for two MP5s.

The DAKA is THE TICKET!
That’s the first look at one of the Apache cases for me. With the foam blocks in there it looks like you can take all the pressure off the scope turrets?

I'm liking that DAKA® GRID Organizer and they make it for other case brands as well.

That said the DAKA® Hard Case LR53 looks interesting, notice how the top/bottom are keyed for stacking multiples of them. Nice idea.

If anyone is in MA or near and is interested in those Lakewood Cases. I bought 2 last year and have never used them, but I think I'm going in a different direction.

Shipping wouldn't be worth it, so just a local sale if anyone is thinking about them

Just picked up one of these from Sportsman's on sale for $ 109.00.

One more fine example of the rabbit hole getting deeper. ;)

If you want a hard case Pelican has the V800 on sale with free shipping for $195.46.

I love my V800.
I'll just say I'm glad, really glad it has wheels.

Just know if it gets above a certain weight, the handles will tip all the way up and smash your fingers while you're wheeling or carrying it.

If you're not flying with it, get a Savior. I haven't tried one of their singles, but their double cases are wonderful. They post both inside/outside sizes so no guessing. You can order from Amazon, but here's their website so you can see what they offer. You might want to check out the Specialist LRP too. I have two regular doubles, urban warfare 51 and specialist 46 for my folder (or two Ruger No. 1's)
saviorequipment . com be sure to check the sizes for the one you want. Example, the LRP 51" is interior, the doubles those ad sizes are exterior, so check specs ext/int before sending to cart.

specialist double is my fave just cause of the outside layout but unfortunately they don't make that in 51 or 55. The classic is also nice, our youngest has some of those for his AR stuff. I didn't think I'd like them, but have to say I love em, built like a tank and I can leave all my mags, bipods, and other stuff in em so they are ready to go when I take my chassis rifles out. You're not going to tear the handles loose or ruin the zippers on these so long as you use the straps too. 20# chassis with gear, no problem.
This sums it up. 2 savages w 22/24 in barrels in oryx. 2 Harris bipods, small tape measure, pens and sharpies, target pasties, bubble level, 100 rd mtm case and a few other odds and ends. Heavy but packable.

The Plano do that too; elicits a cuss every time and is something I really wish they had thought of when designing it. Makes me sad that even the more reputable Pelicans do it too.
