What caliber is it in?

.300 win mag y u wont 2 buy just kidding
I have two in 7RM I haven't fired yet and I need loading info. One was made in 70s one in 80s and the bores look like nobody ever cleaned them. Really carboned and coppered. Cleaning them is job 1. Glad you like the blue job. I have a 1911 I needed to get blued Thanks for the recommendation

That's a guy working for beer money not a real job...
I have used Mel for the last 10 years no...15 years he does all my bluing and Mel is a 100 percent stand up guy!! He was bluing 50-60 guns a week a few years ago as well as some gunsmithing. As of our last conversation he was giving up much of the smithing and going to focus mostly on bluing. He is finding like a lot of us that there are a lot of guys who because they can assemble an AR lower call themselves smiths but beyond that are clueless. Mel Doyle is one of the good guys!!!

I'm not saying he's not a great guy, but he is giving his work away. If that's what he normally charges you could give him double and it would still be a deal.

Agreed! But 50 a week at $85 a hit buys a lot of beers..... Just saying!!

Yikes. That's less than 1 hour per job. He's gotta assembly line them well. Probably has help which cuts into his margins fast.

Mel told me he started around 7am 1 guy would start disassembly if needed the next would start blasting and polishing the Mel himself would start the actual tanking. when the First guy was finished disassembling he would come and oil and cool the guns out of the tanks when the second finished he took over the oiling and the first began reassembly and then they all joined him as Mels wife began packing for return shipping. Pretty Mundane. Three guys and the Boss Lady... Very busy but efficient!
