Rifle Basix trigger

I am in the minority on this but I have yet to use a trigger tech that I liked. They feel very heavy to me for some reason even though they don't measure out to be. For some reason 2lbs on a trigger tech feels like 4 pounds on a Timney or other make. Thats just my experience with them. That being said I like the Rifle Basix triggers as well as the Jard and Timney. Jard is a little over looked in my opinion, you can order it pre set from the factory at whatever weight you want and just drop it in. They have always been very friendly and pleasant to deal with.

Depends on what you are trying to do and what your budget is. I’ve not used them, but I’d say no. Much better options. Bix N Andy Tac Sport is one of the top options. Again, depending on what style of shooting.
if it’s just a general use fun gun, go with a Timney. cheap and great.

Have 2 set in the 8oz range. Been using the first one for 3 years, no issues at all. Can't really tell any difference when compared to my Jewel. A local gunsmith told me about them.

I've not had a good experience with Rifle Basix triggers. For a hunting rifle, 2-3 lb trigger, I would recommend a Timney or Trigger Tech. What's your application for?

Are rifle basix still a good choice for Remington 700 style action ?
They use special undersize trigger pins they come with when new (0.124" diameter). Supposed to be important to let the trigger float. You also are supposed to drill out the crimp Remington makes on the receiver. For used ones, I rarely see them coming with the special trigger pins. I bought a used rifle with one installed. I had to get the adjustment instructions from Rifle Basix and it took some (quite a bit) adjustment to stop the firing on bolt close. It is something that you don't tend to forget easily. I never knew how much of the issue was created by the installer before I got it.

So what trigger do you recommend

I have several different ones I use and like, but a Jewel is my first choice for the past several years. Features I like about them:
- reasonably priced
- adjustment range (1.5 ounces to 56 ounces)
- they come set at 1 pound
- configuration purchase options
- great reputation and strong demand if you ever decide to sell it
- they look GOOD on a SS Remington

If you get one, change the spring and set it at 2 oz and shoot it for a while. You will learn about how consistent a trigger it is. @LarryDScott is a great guy to buy one from.

I would second on Larry D. Scott Great guy to do business with. I have bought many of them from him. No regrets. When I need another one I will be buying it from Larry.
