SELLING RFD RB/RB 6PPC

For sale is my RFD actioned 6PPC. This gun was built by the late Shelley Davidson of 'Tinker Toy' BR lore. There's much more to tell but here's the basics:

-RFD LV series RB/RP action. The LV series are an XP length action. Combo bolt face for BR/PPC cases.
-14 twist 21.5" LV barrel in .269 'no turn' neck by Shelley. Barrel looked to be unfired when I received it. I believe it's a Shilen.
-Speedy 'Millenia' series stock with front and rear weight systems, action is a glue in.
-Beautiful candy apricot paint by Mike Kavanaugh.

The gun as it sits with a 21 oz. scope is 11 lbs/5 oz. with no weight in. It was built to be a perfectly balanced 13.5 gun with either a LV or HV profile barrel. The rear weight system has a piece of stainless bedded behind the grip area and threaded 1/4X20 so a weight with a stud can thread right into it. The front weight tubes will accommodate weight to balance the gun also. There are a few small chips on the paint (shown). The gun would also make an outstanding, well balanced 30BR VFS gun. The gun will come with an almost new Shilen 2 oz. trigger that's just been gone through. The bolt face shows a small amount of light pitting around the pin hole. The lugs and lug abuttments are perfect. I fired the gun just a few times with out of the box Norma 6PPC brass.

$1950 includes 50 pcs. of Norma brass. Bases included but rings and scope are not. I can deliver the gun to the NBRSA Score Nationals at Raton or can be shipped to your FFL (shipping/insurance not included). Pictures show Shelley Davidson and his 'Tinker Toy' gun. You can read more about Shelley in this link to an article here.

Thanks! :) -Al

Nice rifle, RFD actions are really good. Good luck with your sale.

Nice paint selection Al. I'm sure the rifle is a hammer. Someone will get a good, competitive tool. Good luck in Raton. I was tempted to join Johnny C and ride out with him, but I tried shooting left handed in Vermont last weekend and it was, to say the least, awkward. Still too early to shoot from the right after RC surgery. Second shoulder in a year. Have fun. --Greg

Thanks, Greg....would have been great to catch up with you again. I could toss this in the Well Fargo/Robinett stage coach with us, bring it to Raton and send it back with John for 'ya. :) Hope the shoulder heals up well for. :) -Al

Price trimmed $200.

Will leave this up for a few days before it migrates back into the gun safe. :)

Al, I'm benchrest rifled out so to speak, but thanks. Interestingly, I had an RFD, same model action years ago, PPC LV. My Lapua brass would not fit, no way. I called Bob Dodd and he said "of course it won't I chambered the rifle with a reamer designed for Norma brass because I like it." Looks like Shelley followed his lead. -Greg
