No rule, but you normally find supersonic or near supersonic rimfire ammo to be too wind sensitive, and accuracy suffers.

There is no rule. However, high velocity "supersonic" is pushing a shock wave that gives the wind a larger area to act on so it drifts more in the wind than standard velocity "subsonic". If you want high velocity target 22 lr, try RWS R-100. Most of the hunting and plinking 22 lr is high velocity and therefore supersonic.
